His bond is set at $500,000.

The Los Angeles man arrested in connection to a deadly swatting call in Wichita, Kansas last month has been charged with involuntary manslaughter.

This is not the only swatting incident in relation to Mr. Barriss, as per The Globe and Mail, he had placed another fake emergency call just six days earlier in Calgary.

Wichita authorities picked up Tyler Barriss, 25, from the Men's Central jail in Los Angeles at 8:53 a.m.

Barriss is accused of making the false report, which reportedly spawned from an argument after a wager-based game of Call of Duty: WWII. He was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on Thursday afternoon.

The California man alleged to have sent SWAT team members to the Kansas home of Andrew Finch has been charged with manslaughter over the prank phone call leading to Finch's death late a year ago. After this incident, an arrest was later made, and now the suspect has officially been charged with involuntary manslaughter for having his hand in the events that led to a person's death.

Asked what is happening with the other investigation in the case, involving the shooting, District Attorney Marc Bennett said it's "still under review by me".

The Kansas City Police Department received a 9-1-1 call alleging that a family was being held hostage after the father had been killed by an intruder.

There hasn't yet been a decision on if those players could face charges, Bennett said.

Police went to the address, expecting to find a homicide victim and two hostages. When Wichita police responded, a man, later identified as Andy Finch, 28, emerged from the front door and was fatally shot by an officer. A fugitive-from-justice warrant filed by Los Angeles County prosecutors says Barriss was charged in Kansas on December 29 with the felony of making a false alarm.

An officer shot and killed Finch as he stood in the doorway of his home.

Siegenthaler said swatting calls can put the public and officers at risk and tie up police resources.
