Mark Wahlberg is in hot water again after it was reported that he refused to approve Christopher Plummer as a replacement for Kevin Spacey in All the Money in the World.
Wahlberg and his co-star Michelle Williams are both represented by the same agency, but his hardball tactics are in contrast to her approach.
Ridley Scott's All the Money in the World has been the source of a great deal of traction, having replaced Kevin Spacey with Christopher Plummer after a number of allegations came against Spacey.
"It is crucial that this conversation continues within our community and we are committed to being part of the solution", the statement said. But according to USA Today, Wahlberg had a clause in his contract that gave him the ability to approve co-stars.
After news of the pay difference became public, many cited it as a prime example of the gender pay gap prevalent in Hollywood and other industries.
In November, a source close to the production told the that Williams was paid "hundreds of thousands of dollars or less", with Wahlberg getting at least $2 million.
Man cuts Muslim girl's hijab in Toronto
He was wearing black prescription glasses, a black hooded sweater, black trousers and brown gloves, police said. He pulled the hood off the girl's jacket and cut her hijab with a pair of scissors, police said.
After the Sony leaks which revealed a huge pay disparity between male and female actors in American Hustle, Bradley Cooper pledged to work with his female co-stars to negotiate their salaries.
Possibly further complicating the issue is the question of whether the film's principal stars had agreed to make themselves available for necessary reshoots in their original contracts, as is often customary.
Wiliams has also been quoted as saying about the re-shoot, "I'd be wherever they needed me, whenever they needed me". And they could have my salary, they could have my holiday, whatever they wanted. Scott said that apart from Plummer and the film crew, everyone had done the shoot essentially for free, which is now contradicted by reports of Wahlberg's salary.
Another source said that Wahlberg's lawyer formally vetoed Plummer's casting until the financiers met the actor's demand for additional payment.
'I'm so much more interested in what you have to say than what I have to say, ' Williams told reporters about her date on the red carpet.
