Paul Ryan ridiculed for tax cut tweet, deletes it

Paul Ryan's tweet bragging about a woman making an extra $1.50 a week because of the tax bill PRyan Twitter

Neither Ryan's office nor Ketchum could be reached for comment.

According to the Tax Policy Center's analysis of the bill, the top 1 percent of earners will receive an average tax cut of $51,000, or about 650 times what Julia's getting. After being slammed on social media, the Wisconsin Republican apparently figured out the amount isn't exactly something to write home about - let alone highlight as a major feature of a $1.5 trillion tax cut.

She said she would use the additional weekly earnings to cover the cost of her yearly Costco membership.

Just when you think Paul Ryan couldn't get any more delusional, he goes and does exactly just that.

Ryan's tweet, now deleted, told of a secretary featured in an Associated Press report who was "pleasantly surprised" by the marginal pay rise, drawing condemnation from critics who accused the politician of being out of touch with lower-income Americans. "Chip in $1.50 now to help us repeal and replace Ryan permanently this November".

Whoever sent that tweet from Ryan's account, whether it was him or a hapless staffer, has to be feeling a little sheepish right now. He linked to a fundraising page that suggests a $1.50 donation to his campaign.

However, despite the "good news" that Ryan has since deleted, the Speaker was fried on Social media.

Frasier actor John Mahoney dies at 77
The Coen Brothers chose Mahoney for the role of WP Mayhew in Barton Fink (1992) because of his resemblance to William Faulkner . After a brief stint in the United States army, Mahoney became an English teacher, and later the editor of a medical journal.

A number of Twitter users had basic math questions for Ryan - including asking where the money itself went.

"We'll work an extra 2 mins a day for our $1.50/wk".

"If only he would delete himself", said another.

Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi posted a screenshot of the since-deleted tweet, calling it "embarrassing".

"If you're going to say that $1,000 is crumbs, you live in a different world than I'm living in", Vice President Mike Pence said.

House Speaker Paul Ryan retweeted an article published by AP News about how the GOP tax cuts are reportedly delivering bigger paychecks to workers across the country.
