Whether you're taking part in the beta programme or not, we wanted to give you a first look at some of the features you can expect in this update. There's better organization for the game library and child play-time limits in the "Keiji" update as well. "In addition, the family manager/guardians can choose whether or not to automatically log the child out of their PS4 once their playtime is over". Family managers will be able to track playtime, as well as set restrictions either based on certain time windows or on total amount of time spent playing. Notifications on PS4 will be sent to the child during gameplay so that he or she knows when they should save and quit. The "This PS4" tab will list all the applications that are installed on the PS4 system. Easy as that. Aside from this nifty feature that Sony is bringing for PS4 Pro users, there are a few other handful features and benefits coming as well. This section also shows games that have been purchased, but not downloaded. If this happens, the games will be shown with a lock icon on top of the PS Plus logo, making it more obvious that re-subscribing will restore access to those games. As someone who participates in numerous betas, trials, and demos, my library is a mess - filled with applications I'll never use more than that initial period. It's nice to know how many hours of our life we've sunk into our hobby.

Quick Menu Enhancements: This allows users to quickly access specific friends from their custom list. This will also allow you to see who's now online.

Listening to music on the PS4 will now feature Quick Menu shortcuts. On the Media Player or the USB Music Player, Triangle works as the shortcut for play or pause.

Upcoming Update Features PS4 Supersampling Mode
Here's what's coming with PS4's big 5.50 update

One of the main changes with the PS4 5.50 update is that the game Library has now been divided into two different areas.

The quick menu now supports custom lists of friends and will also include new shortcuts such as pressing square to change the volume on music playing via Spotify, and background music is now supported by PlayStation Now. This is another feature that's useful for gamers who don't want so much clutter on their PS4.

As of update 5.50, players will also be able to use custom wallpapers through the use of USB. You'll be able to zoom and crop to make sure you get the right background for you. If you lack a 4K television, this new mode takes games that are rendering at higher than 1080p and downscales that output to your television. Some games already have supersampling, so this feature is for those without the option. Xbox One added play limits previous year with the Creators Update, and the Xbox One X hardware has been able to supersample games since last November.
