This edition is unique as it would witness the participation of 29 two/three wheelers, 15 four wheelers, 9 commercial vehicle manufacturers; unveiling around 101 vehicles. It also announced the launch of nine new models, including an EV in the Indian market by 2020. The launch will showcase more than twenty model launches and many hybrid/electric vehicles.

The government says all new vehicles sold in the country must be electric from 2030.

The company, which has distribution in 23 countries, has joined hands with Laish Madison Motor Werks (LMMW) to bring its retro style motorcycles in the country and has a fully integrated assembly facility in Pune.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), which has also bagged orders for EVs from EESL, will showcase six new electric vehicles, including two futuristic concepts - a global aspirational SUV and a Stinger concept of one of the company's popular SUVs. "Mahindra's electric pavilion at the Auto Expo showcases our vision of the Future of Mobility - one that offers clean, connected and convenient vehicles to our customers in India and around the world".

Now, the vehicle was expected at the Auto Expo 2018 and well, Tata Motors sprung a surprise here too.

The company also showcased its 2-seater electric auto - Uniti One - along side a virtual reality demonstration of the 5-seater vehicle. Mahindra and Mahindra displayed its widest ever Electric Vehicle (EV) portfolio, showcasing the UDO Concept, Treo, e-Cosmo and first of its kind 380 Volt powertrain. It will have a powerful electric drive of 300kW total output with a range of up to 500 km along with driver assistance systems for maximum safety, the company said. Present at the launch was Akshay Kumar who graced the unveiling. The company is expected to launch its first EV in India by 2020.

Ashok Leyland unveiled Circuit-S, an electric bus powered by a swappable smart battery. The automobile products accounted for 5.3 million of our global sales and India was a great contributor. It would be interesting to see how the company plans to take this project forward.
