Vikings Deny New York Giants Permission to Interview QB Coach Kevin Stefanski

Kevin Stefanski Vikings could promote Kevin Stefanski to OC, play keep-away with Giants' top target

There will be no pillaging of the Vikings, at least as far as the Giants' offensive coordinator position is concerned.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Vikings blocked the Giants from interviewing quarterback coach Kevin Stefanski, who was a guy NY was targeting to be its next offensive coordinator.

New York's head coach is Pat Shurmur, who was Minnesota's offensive coordinator previous year and has worked with Stefanski for the last two seasons.

In my opinion, this seems like a flaw in National Football League rules.

Pochettino confirmed that he was anxious about the pitch, which he said "was not in a condition to play football". Pochettino is anxious about his players getting injured but said that he is anxious about Rochdale's players too.

So where will the Giants' search turn next?

NY will now be looking elsewhere for an offensive coordinator, though whoever ultimately takes the job will not be calling plays - Shurmur has said he intends to do so. The Eagles already have lost DeFilippo and may lose offensive coordinator Frank Reich who is a candidate for the head coach job with the Colts (which Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels spurned earlier this week).

A source said Eagles running backs coach Duce Staley would then become the frontrunner for New York's offensive coordinator vacancy.

Even though a change from quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinator is considered a lateral move on a coaching staff by some, Kevin Stefanski will eventually get his chance as an offensive coordinator even if it doesn't happen this offseason. In 2016 he was named Running Backs Coach before being named the Quarterbacks Coach before the 2017 season.
