In conversation with TechCrunch, a Snapchat spokesperson stated that the company is very sorry.

Snapchat has confirmed to TechCrunch that it is testing a new feature that allows users to tag others in photos and videos.

Look below, if you want to be totally disgusted...

Snapchat and Instagram have removed Giphy features from their platforms, TechCrunch reported on Friday, March 9. As spotted by Matt Rappaport and reported by TechCrunch, Snapchat is now testing the ability for users to tag other users within Snaps by including their username in a text field.

Users watching the story will be able to tap on it to bring up a new menu linking to the user info, and hence add them as a friend. The tagged person's name, handle and Bitmoji can be seen with the swipe up "more" option.

10 'Leading Ladies' to celebrate on International Women's Day
Bridge for Equity believes that the theme for this year's International Women's Day, PressForProgress, is timely and relevant. International Women's day is observed every year on March 8 and it is observed around the world.

The new Tagging feature is simple and lets your friends know about a particular snap or stories on your Snapchats.

If a user has been tagged in a post, they will receive a standard notification similar to Instagram and Facebook. The same feature is applicable on the Snapchat.

Upon asking for the same feature, Snapchat's officials have confirmed that they are now testing out this feature.

Last month, the company added a "Tabs" feature to the app that separates Snaps into Group Chats and active Stories.

Instagram and Snapchat's recently introduced Gif feature that allowed users to include bitmap image format from the media repository in their snaps and stories has been temporarily removed by both the applications after users saw a racist GIF as an option to add to their images.
