The proposed deal would see the Obamas produce exclusive content that would be available only on the streaming service.

According to The New York Times, Barack Obama and his wife Michelle are in serious talks with the streaming giant Netflix.

A former New York Times executive editor keeps a Barack Obama therapy doll in her purse, she wrote of herself in an op-ed The Guardian published Wednesday.

NETFLIX MIGHT be on the brink of their biggest deal yet - signing on The Obamas.

The streaming service's mix of original drama, films and other programming has proved popular globally, with subscriber numbers reaching almost 118 million at the end of 2017.

Stockdale double sets up Irish for Grand Slam showdown
Joe Schmidt admitted the 20-point winning margin was harsh on Scotland and skipper John Barclay agreed his side were hard done by. Ulster flyer Stockdale went over twice, however, the second on the stroke of halftime as Ireland went in 14-3 ahead.

It was not immediately clear what types of content they would deliver to the site, but Eric Schultz, a former adviser to the president told the Times: "President and Mrs. Obama have always believed in the power of storytelling to inspire".

Netflix told the BBC it had no comment to make about the reports.

One possible show idea, the newspaper said, could involve Obama discussing topics that were germane to his policies as president - including health care, voting rights, and immigration, The Times said. Topics of interest to Michelle Obama during the couple's time in the White House, such as nutrition, also could be program topics, the Times story says. Netflix would, however, act as a way to get the Obamas' particular brand of messaging out in an unfiltered way, extending their reach past their already impressive social media following.

A Netflix deal would give Obama a new, filter-free way to communicate with the public.

However, it has been reported that they won't be using this platform to respond to President Trump or the current political climate in the United States. He has more than 100 million twitter followers and his Facebook page has been liked by 55 million users.
