Salman Khan, the famed Bollywood actor caught up in the midst of a protracted legal battle over a 1998 poaching incident, was granted bail after serving just two days of a five-year sentence, The Toronto Star is reporting. His bail plea was reserved for a day on Friday by Judge Ravindra Kumar Joshi, who has now been transferred to Sirohi. However, Bishnoi's are planning to move Rajasthan High Court against the verdict. While defence counsel Bora had argued for Khan's bail in the court yesterday, public prosecutor Pokar Ram Bishnoi had opposed the plea.

Reuters noted that the Indian film industry relies heavily on Khan's popularity for box office receipts.

Salman's next movie, Race 3, which is being directed by Remo D'souza, is going to be released on Eid.
