Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to join the electoral battle and begin his whirlwind poll tour of the state from May first which may continue until May 10. Currently, Modi is in China for a two-day informal summit in Wuhan. PM Modi, who is now in China to hold informal meetings with Chinese President XI Jinping, reportedly asked Gandhi if he was fine after the flight scare, NDTV reported, quoting sources. Sources say "It was a private conversation between the two (over phone)". All the authorities concerned were informed about the plane developing snag.

"The rudder was malfunctioning", said party sources, adding that their chief could tell as he stood next to the pilots, "calm and composed and trying to save the situation".

"The flight took off at around 9:20 am from Delhi".

As seen in the video released by a news channel, Gandhi is seen showing a Congress leader his watch, implying that there was no time and then agreeing that "one line" be sung of the national song.

"We believe in the philosophy of Karnataka. Respect!", he said in another tweet.

A party functionary Kaushal Vidyarthi had written to DG and IG of police, Karnataka, Neelamani N. Raju, about "multiple unexplained technical snags" and alleged that they could have been the result of intentional tampering.

A DGCA official was earlier quoted by news agencies as saying, "The operator has reported the incident to us". According to the preliminary report, it was a snag affecting the autopilot mode.

"Not just the auto-pilot, there was a rudder malfunction too", said the party's social media in-charge Divya Spandana. "We will build a talent pool to cater to over 3 million IT jobs in the state by skill upgradation and IT-driven curriculum", added the manifesto.

The statement further said, "DGCA has set up a two-member committee to investigate into the cause of the incident".

In a complaint to the Karnataka DGP, the Congress said there were multiple unexplained technical failures during the flight and that a thorough probe was required until which the special aircraft would be grounded.
