Donald Trump calls for Jon Tester to resign over Jackson opposition

Then-Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson President Donald Trump's choice to be secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs leaves a Senate office building after meeting individually with some members of the committee that would vet him for the post on Capitol Ronny Jackson Will Not Return As Trump's Personal Physician

Moreover, reports that Jackson is no longer employed as the president's physician are only partially accurate, Carter reports.

In a February University of Montana Big Sky poll, 41% of respondents said the President was doing a "poor" job.

The Pentagon's announcement came after more than a week of scandal surrounding rear Adm. Jackson after unconfirmed allegations emerged about his reportedly improper work conduct. "And if I said them, he'd never be elected again".

Had the Pentagon already commenced its investigation or had Karen Pence's complaint become public earlier, Jackson nearly certainly never would have been nominated - not even by this president - to head the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The president lashed out at Tester on Saturday at a campaign-style rally in MI, saying, "I know things about Tester that I could say, too".

Tester told CNN's Anderson Cooper that the committee heard from almost two dozen witnesses who, among other things, claimed Jackson was nicknamed "the candy man" for his habit of handing out prescription drugs to staffers who needed to sleep or stay awake that he drank, at times excessively, on some official overseas trips and that he fostered a hostile work environment.

You can tell how inappropriate Trump's accusation was by the reaction of Republicans.

Last week, Jackson's confirmation hearing was postponed after current and former service members told members of Congress that he drank to excess while on duty, freely passed out prescription drugs and once banged on a female colleague's hotel-room door while intoxicated. It remains to be seen whether or not his attacks on Trump's personal doctor will have a negative impact on him during his campaign.

Questions Mueller wants ask Trump
The leading voice in opposition to Trump granting an interview with Mueller - John Dowd - left Trump's legal team in March. Numerous questions are the direct results of tweets or press interviews the president has given since he took office.

Jackson has served 23 years as a Navy physician, including a tour in 2005 as an emergency medicine physician in Iraq.

Alyssa Farah, press secretary for the vice president, confirmed that Ayers conveyed the concerns to the White House.

That's not exactly a denial because Jackson's title has not changed, at least not yet.

Trump said he is considering a number of potential replacements, including "some very political people" who might be better equipped to handle the scrutiny that comes with a nomination.

Ergo, Trump can not pick people mainly because he likes them and they passed an Federal Bureau of Investigation check. And who will step in to fill the vacancy at the VA?

All to replace a widely respected and deeply qualified VA secretary, David Shulkin, with someone who would supposedly be beyond corruption or reproach.

The White House continually defended Jackson as his nomination cratered on Capitol Hill this week.

Note to the White House: Getting nominees through the Senate is not going to get easier, so up your game.
