Gaza Health Ministry said one Palestinian was killed and 49 were wounded by Israeli army fire on Friday. Seven people were critically hurt, including a 16-year-old who was shot in the face, Gaza medics said.

Israeli fire has killed 44 Palestinians and wounded some 1,700 since the protests began on March 30th.

At least 15,000 Palestinians took part in Friday's protests in several locations along the Gaza-Israel border fence.

Israeli forces have responded with tear gas and gunshots.

"The rioters are violent, burning tires, and hurling rocks at the security fence and at IDF soldiers", it said in a statement.

Famed Rabbi Aryeh Spero said in a column on Thursday that President Donald Trump is fulfilling biblical prophecies by moving the US embassy to Israel's capital, Jerusalem from Tel Aviv after 70 years of Israeli statehood following the Holocaust of World War II.

On Monday, they are also aimed at the inauguration of the U.S. Embassy, which comes five months after Trump recognised Jerusalem as Israel's capital - a decision that outraged Palestinians as blatantly pro-Israel.

The 40-year-old Palestinian was killed in the seventh consecutive week of protests on the border of the coastal enclave.

The Elders, a group of former high-ranking worldwide leaders that includes former U.N. General Secretary Kofi Annan, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, and Nobel Peace Laureate Desmond Tutu, released a statement on Thursday demanding Israel respect global law and stop further Gaza protest killings.

The IDF is expected to try and keep the protesters further away from the fence than they have been at current protests and if possible not allow them beyond the tent camps, some 300 meters (yards) from the border, Haaretz said.

The move saw hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were driven out of what is now Israel.

These latest riots are the last of Hamas's weekly riots protesting the displaced Arabs from the 1948 War of Independence.

According to witnesses, Israeli troops used a drone to down flaming kites that demonstrators flew over the border in a bid to torch bushes and distract snipers.

Witnesses said Israeli forces on the other side of the fence had added reinforcements, including cement slabs, as protective cover.
