According to CNN, the dogs owners Michael Dellegrazie and his girlfriend made a decision to put their eight-year-old Pomeranian Alejandro with cargo.

"He's not just a pet, we lost a member of our family", Dellegrazie said Alejandro was a happy, friendly dog that he shared with his girlfriend. Michael Dellegrazie, the owner, said the dog was alive when the flight from Phoenix, Ariz., landed at the airport around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday for a scheduled layover.

"When he landed here in MI, he was alive at 6:30 a.m., and then at 8:20, he wasn't moving and it just doesn't make any sense to me", the dog's owner, Michael Dellagrazie said in an interview with WDIV-TV, referring to his Pomeranian, Alejandro.

Alejandro was found dead in his crate in the cargo facility at Detroit Metropolitan Airport, southwest of Detroit in Romulus. "As part of that review, we want to find out more about why this may have occurred to ensure it doesn't happen again". "That's all I can think of", Dellegrazie said.

The lawyer represented the owners of Kokito, the French bulldog who was killed on a United Airlines flight in March. 'The dog is not a pet. Delta carried 57,479 animals in 2017, and said two of them died, CNBC reports.

Robinette's concern is that not enough research has been done to find out how video games may be linked to violent behavior. Valve has now confirmed the game will not be released and named the person believed to be responsible for its creation.

The family's attorney, Evan Oshan, told ABC News: "Alejandro was checked on".

Alejandro's is the latest in a string of pet deaths on board commercial airlines.

It's still unclear what caused the dog's death. In March, United Airlines came under fire when a flight attendant forced a family to keep their dog Tokio in an overhead compartment during a 10-hour flight.

Delta, however, tells us it did not push the passengers to store their dog in cargo.it was their choice. "We assume full responsibility for this tragedy and express our deepest condolences to the family and are committed to supporting them". Days later, a United flight was rerouted after a family's dog was put on a plane to St. Louis instead of Akron, Ohio.

In 2017, 506,994 animals were transported on USA airlines, and of those, 24 died, according to Department of Transportation figures.
