After a week of speculation, well-known breakfast joint IHOP announced it's changing its name to IHOb, with the "b" standing for "burgers".

The company revealed the new name on its Twitter account Monday after teasing the change last week.

"The world is spiraling out of control and I can't understand why IHOP would force us to deal with more unwelcome change", said one Twitter user.

The breakfast chain announced that it had changed its name as a marketing gimmick after adding new burgers to the menu - a move that annoyed a few other fast food empires and the internet at large. The "b" stands for burgers! Whataburger made a decision to poke some fun Monday morning when the restaurant chain announced that it was changing its name.

"We're always going to have pancakes on the menu".

That said, IHOP has a new line of hamburgers it's pretty proud of. "We've pancaked pancakes for 60 years now so it's the ideal time to start burgerin' burgers".

Starting Monday, you can order one of seven burgers at IHOb restaurants across the country.

IHOP seems to be hedging its bets by saying the IHOb name is "for the time being", suggesting the effort may be more of a marketing ploy rather than a true rebranding campaign. Many people chimed in with their guesses, including Questlove, the drummer from The Roots, who wanted to know if the b stood for "breakbeats". When asked if IHOP was considering food-fusion menu items - remember Burger King's Whopperito or Taco Bell's Nacho Fries? But most fans figured out it was just a way to get people talking.

The company said the secret would be revealed this morning.and it's official.
