"The doc has made it clear that punching the air is not an option".

Raheem Sterling has revealed his incredible journey from helping his mother clean hotel toilets to becoming an England World Cup star.

A photograph of Southgate's training notes on Thursday led supporters to believe that Raheem Sterling will be dropped in favour of Ruben Loftus-Cheek while Marcus Rashford will come into the side, having started on the bench for the dramatic 2-1 victory over Tunisia.

England made the ideal start to their World Cup campaign on Monday with a promising 2-1 win over Tunisia.

In fact, when Alli initially suffered the groin problem in the first half against Tunisia it was Delph that Southgate ordered to get stripped and ready to replace him - however, Alli played on until 66 minutes.

Aside from the two potential changes, it looks as though Southgate will keep the same team that faced Tunisia.

Senegal and Japan were surprise winners in the opening round of Group H games.

Southgate, who also has the experienced Eric Dier to augment his midfield and Jamie Vardy's pace in attack, wants his players to take responsibility and play with freedom.

JUST IN! Chelsea strike terms with coach Antonio Conte
He impressed Man United supporters with a lively display attacking through the centre during Russia's thumping opening day 5-0 win over Saudi Arabia last week.

"It is better this is me than one of the players", he said.

"I'm about to have my third child and I'm not going to miss it if I can help it, but I want to get back as fast as I can, so we'll have to see".

The Belgium defender has been passing advice onto his team-mate and may have unwittingly aided England ahead of their Group G meeting on June 28. We will do our job against any team we face.

Over the season, he averaged just over one key pass per game and completed three successful dribbles per game - both those attributes will be important to England chances on Sunday.

This will be their initial aim against England and Southgate will no doubt have prepared his players for this eventuality.

The England midfielder said Emily Webb, England senior team operations coordinator and PA to Southgate, is ready to get him back as quickly as possible - and with the blessing of the England manager.

He explained that it was a tribute to his father, who was shot dead in his birthplace of Jamaica when Sterling was just two years old.
