England stormed to a one-day worldwide world record of 481 for six as they thrashed Australia by 242 runs at Trent Bridge to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series on Tuesday.

Former Australian 'keeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist lent a more colourful look on the result, while former Australian and Nottinghamshire all-rounder David Hussey paid tribute to Notts product and England opener Alex Hales, who thumped 147 off just 92 balls.

England couldn't manage much in the last few overs, but they ended with the highest ODI score and the second highest list A cricket score of 481 for 6 in 50 overs, the BBC reported.

In the same region of East Midlands, only 33KMs away, England hosted Australia at Trent Bridge for the third ODI of their ongoing five-match series.

The previous highest-ever ODI of England was 444, scored against Pakistan at Trent Bridge back in 2016.

On the next ball Morgan, whose tally of 5,443 ODI runs for England in 180 match took him past Ian Bell's 5416 in 161 - also holed out.

Hornets traded Dwight Howard to the Nets
Last year, in his first and only season with the Charlotte Hornets , Howard averaged 12.5 rebounds and 16.6 points over 81 games. Instead, during that flight, Howard was given a bunch of candy, and talked into committing to Orlando for the long term.

Part-time bowler D'Arcy Short was pummelled for two sixes either side of the wicket as Australia captain Tim Paine, who won the toss, desperately sought a solution.

England cricket team tore apart the record books and rewrote history during the third ODI against Australia on Tuesday when they posted a total of 481/6 on the scoreboard.

Captain Morgan hit England's quickest half-century, coming from only 21 deliveries, and with his 67 became the record ODI runscorer.

Paine tried everything to stop the bleeding - using eight bowlers - but Bairstow and then Hales carted everything that was served up to them to all corners of the ground. Bairstow's dream run continued and he notched his sixth century in 69 balls.

It was a quite incredible performance from Morgan's side and, perhaps most shockingly, the team's most destructive player Jos Buttler only made 11 from 12 balls. Andrew Tye suffered the worst punishment, his nine wicketless overs going for 100 runs.

Remarkably England failed to strike a boundary in the last four overs - although the damage to the Australian morale was already done. They are the yardstick of 50-over cricket. When Finch was bowled by Adil Rashid, wickets fell at regular intervals with Australia crashing from 152-3 to 239 all out before they had even reached their 38th over. Jhye Richardson with his three-wicket haul and Ashton Agar with an economy of 7 after ten overs were the best of the lot, but for Australia to stand a chance of picking up a win, they'll need a lot more, both from the bowling and the batting units.
