As odd as it seems, Brazil's Marcelo could miss time due to a "hotel mattress" related back injury.

The Brazil team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar commented on the injury to Marcelo in the final match of the group stage of the world championship against the national team of Serbia.

The Brazilian federation says Marcelo is recovering well from the injury but it remains unclear if he will be available for the team's round-of-16 match against Mexico on Monday.

He can, therefore, expect to come up against not only Hazard but also Thibaut Courtois who will nearly certainly man the posts for Belgium .

After the game, Lasmar said: "It is still too early to make an accurate diagnosis". Maybe the mattress in the hotel was softer than usual.

Marcelo has missed games for Real Madrid due to muscle problems in both of the last two seasons. Thankfully it was nothing serious and I'll be back in no time!

After the training, Tite and Silva, who will captain his team on Monday, addressed the pre-match press conference. "He said he locked up when he was leaving the pitch".

Neymar dealt with an ankle injury after the opener against Switzerland but he was back in action against Costa Rica and against Serbia.
