Tony Parker agrees to deal with Hornets, reports say Reports: Tony Parker era ends in San Antonio as point guard decides to join Charlotte Hornets

It will be weird to see LeBron James wearing a Los Angeles Lakers uniform next season, but it's not stranger than Tony Parker donning a jersey that's not the San Antonio Spurs', as we've at least seen James shift from one thread to another before.

Now that Parker is no longer in the picture, could this pave the way for Leonard to return to San Antonio?

With that in mind, Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich penned a heartfelt tribute to Parker, which the Spurs presented on Friday afternoon.

The Charlotte Hornets have a deal in principle to sign Frenchman Tony Parker as their veteran backup to point guard Kemba Walker, an National Basketball Association source confirmed to the Observer.

Wimbledon: Federer Extends Winning Streak
The 23-time major victor will next face France's Kristina Mladenovic or Germany's Tatjana Maria for a place in the last 16. Romanian 29th seed Mihaela Buzarnescu thrashed British teenager Katie Swan, 6-0, 6-3 to extend her remarkable renaissance.

Parker, 36, was drafted by the Spurs 28th overall in 2001 draft and has spent his entire professional career in San Antonio. Parker will play behind Kemba Walker in the Hornets' rotation.

Tension between Parker and Leonard emerged after Parker said his own quadriceps injury was "100 times worse" than Leonard's, who had been seeking outside treatment and recovering away from the team for most of last season.

Leonard is now seeking a trade after playing in only nine games last season because of his injured right quad.

With all the Kawhi Leonard drama, Parker's free agency this offseason was overshadowed. While the four championships, six All-Star appearances and four All-NBA selections highlight his resume, the biggest joy for me has been to have the pleasure of watching TP grow up before our eyes. He took over the franchise, and I gave up the torch of the franchise willingly. He was part of 137 playoff wins with Popovich, the second most by any coach and player in National Basketball Association history. Popovich and Spurs legend Tim Duncan combined for 157 playoff wins.
