The T-Cross comes with black interiors.
The front-wheel drive T-Cross is based on Volkswagen's MQB-AO platform - as used by the Polo and other recently introduced compact SUV models from the Volkswagen Group, including the Seat Arona and Skoda Karoq.
VOLKSWAGEN has released details of a brand new model for its line-up, the VW T-Cross.
The face of the T-Cross gets wider wraparound headlamps and grille. The vehicle was about 54 millimetres longer than the hatchback Polo, a crossover sharing the same chassis, but 12 inches shorter than the model T-Roc and nearly 38 inches less than "Tiguan". The rear receives a sloping tailgate that opens at bumper level together with a full-width reflector set within the tail lamps and chromed T-Cross identification. The styling makes it look like a smaller version of the VW T-Roc. The T-Cross is 127mm shorter than the T-Roc, which is broadly similar in size to a Golf. In China the new Touareg is celebrating its world premiere, accompanied by two future SUVs for that region: the Powerful Family SUV Tharu and the Advanced Midsize SUV Tayron. Like the concept, it gets hexagonal-shaped AC vents, a steering wheel with audio controls and an octagonal horn pad. The SUV will also get VW's 10.25-inch all-digital instrument cluster called the Active Info Display.
No performance or economy stats have been unveiled just yet, but Volkswagen says all engines comply with the latest Euro 6d-Temp regulations for carbon dioxide and particulate emissions. The top model is the 1.5 TSI four-cylinder engine with 110kW. Transmission is handled by a choice between a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed direct-shift gearbox (DSG). After all, as Volkswagen said in a statement on Thursday, the automaker expects fully half of its sales will "probably be an SUV" by 2025.
