The boy initially told deputies his mother was missing, but Chitwood said he later admitted killing her mother while she was sleeping.

Ramos was charged Sunday with first-degree premeditated murder and is now being held in a juvenile detention center.

Gregory's two friends, both 17-years-old, are facing charges of being accessories to a crime after the fact, authorities said.

Ramos later staged a burglary and called police to report his mom missing after school on Friday, authorities said.

Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood said Gregory Ramos was arrested Saturday after the body of 46-year-old Gail Cleavenger was found buried under a church fire pit.

A GoFundMe page has been started for Cleavenger. Chitwood said he anticipated that the state attorney's office would soon file a murder charge.

In Ceglarek's case, the grandparents, Joe and Marion Cappizzi, of Deltona, who have custody of the teen who turns 18 on December 20, did not even know that their grandchild was not in school on Friday, the day Ceglarek was out helping Ramos, Jacques said.

He then called his two best friends to help hide her body and stage a robbery at his home.

At some point during conversations with investigators the teen confessed to carrying out the murder and staging the burglary with the two other teens.

Upon searching the woods, police say, they discovered a shovel Ramos used to bury Cleavenger and a broom he used to clean up his tracks. Photos of Ramos showed markings on his face which the Sheriff's Office believes are from his mother fighting back, detectives said.

Ramos and his mother had an argument about his D grade at around 11pm on November 1, then he woke her up at around 12.30am in the early hours of the next day and cut off her air supply. "She was such a small lady", Turner said.

"We would come home and sit in the driveway and talk about our kids having driver's license finally, and all that kind of stuff", Hackett said. All our hearts break for this family, ' he added on Twitter.

"The case we worked tonight was one of the most disturbing and saddest I've seen in my career", Chitwood said.
